Zusammenfassung

Information and communication technology is of great importance in our society an became an integral part of our every day life. However, older adult’s acceptance and technology adoption rate still lacks behind. To address this issue, older adults have to be actively involved as co-authors in the development process to ensure that products meet the right requirements. The Historytelling project relies heavily on the integration of older adults in the whole human centered design projects and aims to compensate age-related deficits and addresses their strengths such as life-experience. It offers the possibility to document and share personal life stories. In addition to content-related aspects, such as the design of stimulus material for stories inspiration, the project aims at using participatory methodological aspects. Thus, this paper presents two workshops with 14 participants which dealt with the evaluation of stimulus material and a web-based prototype. The evaluation served as a good method for gathering the required information regarding stimulus material and the evaluation of the prototype. We could show that pictures, concise questions and unfamiliar stories worked best to stimulate personal stories, especially if they are personalized to the authors.
